Redemption song release
“Redemption” is a collaborative musical journey across generations, transforming an original melody by my mother, Valentyna Shvets, into a fully realized orchestral song. As composer and producer, I shaped the arrangement and production while preserving the expressive character of the original melody, bringing my mother’s musical idea into a finished artistic form.
“Redemption” is an emotional journey through regret, forgiveness, and the longing for a second chance. The song follows a voice confronting the consequences of a past decision, questioning whether what has been broken can still be restored.
It is a reflection on guilt and the passage of time, but also on the possibility of change. The song does not offer a simple resolution. Instead, it ends with a question — “Is it?” — leaving open the possibility that even when everything appears to be lost, redemption may not yet be beyond reach.
The song is now available on:
The lyrics are as follows:
Lyrics:
You feel so alone, so maybe
Something might be wrong, and therefore
A decision made, just isn’t right…
How painful!
You thought you’ll be fine, you aren’t,
You thought it’ll pass by – it doesn’t,
How should you retrieve your heart from dust?
It’s broken!
How can I return in this moment -
You were at my side and we were
Ready to be flying in the sky?
How can I redeem myself?
Is there any way to let
Forgive me all the things I’ve done?
All the time gone by will judge me,
All the words I said will charge me,
Is there anything to be restored?
Any?
Don’t say “It’s the end - it’s over!”,
Give me one more chance to over-
Come the faults of past – I’ll do my best,
I promise!
Last and only leaf is fallen,
Last ray of the sun is stolen,
No hope to believe is left for me…
Nothing!
All the birds have gone – it’s silent,
Only frosty wind blows violent,
Face it as it is – it’s just too late…
Is it?
