Last day
A young Iranian girl Delara Darabi took a fault for the crime made by her beloved and was executed after 5 years of prison without notification of her parents in 2009. The work highlights violence against women, describing girl’s last day at life. The first part “La victima”, the victim, describes the anticipation of a catastrophe, the second part “El hilo”, the thread of life, which may be cut off at any moment, describes the violent scene of execution. “El angelo de la muerte”, the angel of death takes her soul… The third part is a harmonization of the protestant choral, which goes in the alto and then tenor parts.
